About Me.
In 2013, at the age of 26, Holly was diagnosed with triple negative, invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. She also carries the BRCA1+ gene mutation. She went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and countless reconstruction surgeries. Unfortunately, six years later, while having a surgery to remove for what was thought to be cysts due to major stomach and bladder pain, she woke up to find out that she had not only been diagnosed with ovarian cancer but was told they had to do an emergency full hysterectomy.
Shortly thereafter, at the height of the pandemic in 2020, she endured 5 more sessions of chemotherapy, 3 blood transfusions and many PT appointments to newly manage her arm lymphedema. Survivorship is far from easy but I’m always going to make the best out of what life throws my way.
I’m figuring out life after cancer one day at a time 💜
